Hey everyone! I'm about to start playing System Shock 2 for the first time. I have been on a big artificial intelligence and transhumanism kick recently, and I figured it was time to give this one a go.
Anyone have any tips for a first time player on my initial run? Like different character builds I should go for? Mods that make the experience better? ENBs? Any suggestions are welcome.
Hi , few tips :
- Use monkeywrench , on easy enemies, save ammo for tougher enemies like turrets
- Use right ammo for right enemy [ Ap for mechanical,anti personnel for living enemies , ap ammo deals little damage to living enemies and anti personnel little damage to mechanical enemies ]
- I used to keep two pistols early on, one with regular ammo and one loaded with ap ammo
- maintain your equipment, weapons can jam when damaged
-monkeys are evil,dont let them fool you
- use single shot mode on your weapons to save ammo
- I used tech skills and standard weapons skills only , psionics wasnt to good for me , maybe it changed with mods/patches but I played at release.
-researching enemies body parts boosts damage you deal to them, do it as soon as possible to save ammo in the long run
-save often,new games with autosaves spoiled many gamers

Ooh, good advice. Any old room will do? Or are there specific safe rooms?
Yes, any old room. I don't think there are any specific safe rooms. Rooms that enemies can't enter are good.
