blah blah blah windows, blah blah printer not working, blah blah reinstall printer, blah blah blah find drivers cause windows cant seem to find them (and spent 20 minutes doing that) , blah blah blah ,get said drivers from vendors website. wait another 10 minutes (to download 100MB cause the vendor bundles a bunch of bloat with the driver and the site is is slow. hint: its not hp … new drivers installed, windows cant find the network printer now, have to install manually by ip address etc. blah blah blah it finally works \0/ .

meanwhile on linux, plug in the printer ,turn it on , connect the ethernet cable, and its configured before i can get to the computer to print a test page…

Ah, printers… right after DNS, humanity’s biggest problem.

But seriously… situations like that used to happen back in the Windows 98/XP days, and you’d expect that by 2026, you wouldn’t have to deal with that kind of hassle.

What annoys me more than the OS are the situations involving the ink.

Not really a surprise. This is the direction it has been going for a while. I don’t like it. I need to become a better dev and figure out how to get standard Linux on a phone.
