We need another "kill your console" video with specs that beat the xbone and PS4. The price to beat is $499, the price of the xbone. Preferably, the price should be ~$450 dollars or less while beating the specs of those consoles.
dont think its going to be possible...yet
Ok well at least lets try to create a build and compare and see what the difference is.
Does anyone have a simple list if the xbox one and PS4 components?
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Freaksamcker/saved/1ZX3 Man it was hard to get this close
Godod effort! should it include though the Windows OS? as it could be based on Linux and Steam. Is this a fair way to save some money against the consoles?
ya go linux and throw in a ssd, little thing would scream for what it is.

Nice .. if it is steam and we could use ISO's....no optical drive needed? Also does hte OEM CPU come with its own cooler if so can the CPU heatsink be dropped if not OCing? (seeing if it can be closer to the challenge of $400.00)
OK damn - can not imagine you are could build for cheaper than that (I would try to drop the optical and swap the HDD with a 250GB SSD)
ya nothing i have see even shows a cpu cooler, save alittle more by getting a cheaper ssd . I think being able to oc this just a little would make this really work. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Freaksamcker/saved/1ZYh
Think the first one is about the best for a console gamer. Linux would not be a pratical option as far as ease of use .But if they could use Linux it would open things up for a ssd or monitor. I had forgotten how bad it sucked being at the beginning pc stage.
^^^^^ Have fun playing facebook games on a A8's intergrated video (HD 8570D ) with 4gb's of low ass ram to slow the video down even more.
And v200 ssd's shude of been discontuned by now as there fail rate is well in the 70% rainge.
lol i was just looking for something cheap, i like my first and second its sucks to have to game at such a low level. I would get a job and buy a better pc before i would game on a console.
no need for a moniter in a kill your console build. does an xbone come with a TV?
nope.

You can allways plug in your old console pad too for steam big picture mode.
It actualy works nice i use it sometimes to play games on my 42" TV relaxing on my settee (couch for you us guys) when i just what to chill out and game
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Freaksamcker/saved/202Z I am scared to go this cheap. I tied to have it all current tech with a decent upgrade path. i dont think you can get any cheaper .
i think this topic's broke, everytime i check it all i get are xbox one commercials
Why does the budget have to be 500? Or even 400? Thats a console that just barely turns on. No xbl or ps plus sub? No games?
So you buy Destiny, GTA 5, and killer instinct. There's 200 dollars right there. Now your console is functionally 700 plus online sub up to 800 now. Than add on a few controllers 900 or so. Then maybe a headset too. Almost 1000 dollars now.
I would say budget 800ish for a console killer. You're going to buy 60 dollar games. New console. New games. Everythings new.
Shop around for parts. Things tend to get real cheap boxing week. Even those samsung SSDs will even go down throw a 250GB into a budget machine and watch it fly. Spend where your money will do the most good. Which is higher speed ram and really only the graphics card at this point. I don't think the challenge is to spend less and less. Paint yourself out of a corner not into it.
How the hell does Destiny, GTA 5, and KI cost 200 dollars? Who buys games for that much when there are way cheaper alternative ways to get the games. Remember, there are services like Steam available.
