Hey everyone it is time for me to upgrade my pc but i would like to hear some of your recommendations for some upgrades. The budget is around 650 $.
Note: the focus of upgrades is better performance and possibly more silent operation
My existing pc:
Intel i7 2700k
gtx 570
Medion Ms 7667(it is pretty much unheard of)
8 gb ram
Medion stock cooler(I have no idea how good it is)
hdd 1500 gb (something drive)
Any help would be appreciated.
Sandy bridge honestly is still really good for gaming and if that's your main focus I wouldn't upgrade the entire platform. I would say sink most of it into a new gpu and get an ssd in your system and you could easily get a couple more years out of it.
You could get an aftermarket cooler but not sure how well that board would handle or even could handle overclocking. Since sandy has been out for so long you prolly could get a really good used board for less than $50
If your board is capable of overclocking, I would also suggest a cooler and some overclocking. Sandy bridge is still very capable.
Also, what do you do with this computer?
I love my sandy 2700k. Frickn awesome chips. OC it OP. 4.8ghz+ is easy enough of most of them (moderate volts).
As for upgrade (i assume you game) - new gpu ie. R290 + a ssd for your OS. You'll still get decent money for the gtx570 as well.
