So here is my current build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/HelloImTinyT/saved/7vtNnQ
I'm looking at upgrading to either the AMD 8320 or 8350 so how worth it would it be to go for the 8350 over the 8320? Is the difference between the two that noticeable? Also could what should I look for when picking a motherboard for it? Would it be necessary to upgrade at all? And finally what kind of GPU should I upgrade to? I'm looking to spend somewhere in the $200-$250 range for the GPU alone. Any help would be great, thanks guys!
What are you doing with your PC, and what's your end budget for the new rig?
Overall if you're just gaming it won't make too big a difference as the per core performance isn't much more, ya might as well hold out another year for zen, or possibly go for an i5 rig now.
Yeah it is just a gaming rig. Well in the mean time should I just go for a GPU upgrade then? I'm wanting to upgrade it so that I can get better performance. I've kind of thought that it should be around $400-$500 in the end, don't know if that is too low or what.
What resolution are you gaming at? The R9 280 should still be around 150 bucks, or shoot for a 390 if you want to go higher without totally losing performance per dollar.
Alrighty that seems good. I play at 1920x1080. So you think it would be alright to go ahead for a GPU before upgrading the CPU? If so how much longer should I wait until I upgrade that?
I'm holding out for zen on my 750k, waiting for a 40-50% performance jump before upgrading, but I've a slight preference to AMD, mostly because we need to keep them around. Hoping they bring something to the table then so I can continue supporting them.
But ya, throw in a 390 and your GPU should be set for a while, you'll just be CPU limited in some games, but it should still be high 40s easily. You can even get a 1440p korean monitor for around 200 bucks if you wanted to up that as well a bit later on.
Unless you wanted an ITX system in the future, in which case the Fury Nano is launching soonish apparently.
