Time for a new Graphics card

I have $450 i can spend, and I'm looking for the best graphics card for the money that can run games extremely well on 3 1920x1080 monitors. I have an 850 watt psu, so i should be able to run it no problem I'm also going with an i5-2500k @4.2ghz so there should be no bottleneck! Thanks!

its xfx, double lifetime warrenty that includes overclocking

that might not do 3 monitors max everything but its the best you can get, besides getting two

You might have some trouble running 3 1080P monitors off 1 gpu, because its basically taking the power of the GPU and dividing it by 3. If you are wanting to go with 3 monitors, AMD has the best support for multimonitors with their eyefinity.

This may come down to personal preference but many people say that 3 monitors become useless after a while.

So the GPU I recommend is the 7970 but be aware that your NOT going to be able to run BF3 and other games on ultra.

Onomatopoeias? Is this a Batman Comic? YEAH!

reveiws and anandtech state that they are running BF3 on ultra at 60-50FPS, overclock to 1050Mhz core and you should have no problem I would invest in a 3rd party cooler afterwards

Uh...yeah on a single screen. Not across 3.

You're going to want AT LEAST two GPUs for Eyefinity or Nvidia Surround. Three GPUs would probably actually be preferable.

on that last part I thought halfsammich meant on a single screen

Paxman!

Oh Lol I see where your coming from, should of made that more clear I was talking about 3 monitors

What's up? Haha good to be back on the forums

Actually I found this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125423

I was thinking maybe i should get it even if its a few fps lower in games thant the 7970. Nvidia usually has better drivers, and this certain GPU has three fans. Ideas?

Not bad at all! But it's not a 7970GE.

I would rather get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130785&Tpk=4gb%20gtx%20670

Get a Radeon HD 7970 Ghz Edition. Those things blows even the GTX 680 off it's feets. There are three drawbacks on the card however - powerconsumption, heat, and noise. But overall it's the new king.

As for the drivers, AMD is doing fairly better than Nvidia. The new Catalyst 12.6 driver should run flawlessly. Not to mention AMDs image quality is way better than Nvidias.

The only reasons to go with a GTX 670 instead must be the fact of better TDP, FXAA and TXAA (which might prove useful with 1980 x 3240 without sacrificing too much performance) and certain 'Nvidia exclusive' graphics options in certain games. But IMO it's not really that great.

I looked on newegg and they aren't on there, or atleast I couldn't find them. Can you please provide a link?

Some of these models are just factory overclocked HD7970 but they are 99% identical to the HD7970 GE.

What's the 1% change?

love mine http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130787

out of all the graphics cards I've used, the only one I couldn't overclock 75Mhz was a trident card and a 2 series nvidia card
