Tim Cain Leaves NC Soft, Joins Obsidian (!)

Tim Cain, the world-famous programmer and co-creator of the original Fallout, Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura, Temple of Elemental Evil and Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, has now left NC Soft's Carabine Studios to join Obsidian Entertainment as Senior Programmer. For over five years, Cain had be working on the MMO Wildstar, which was only just recently debuted at Gamescom. Apparently, Cain left in July of this year for reasons publicly unknown.

This is particularly exciting news for people like myself who've wanted to see Cain work with the old Black Isle team, with members such as J.E. Sawyer, Chris Avellone and Feargus Urquhart among others. Perhaps we'll see another Fallout with Cain in the credits after all? Even if that won't be the case, I'm sure his addition to the team will make Obsidian a powerhouse.

It would be very cool for him to work on a fallout title again. Can't wait to see what happens with him at Obsidian.
