Thunderbolt supported build

Hey everyone,

I have just purchased a 27" Thunderbolt Display from work for £249.50. I was lucky to nab such a steal as they retail at £899.

Now the only issue being I am a PC gamer but I am relatively new to the scene (ex console gamer). I have an MSI GE60 0ND at the moment which is a beautiful machine and an adequate portable gaming rig. It isn't Thunderbolt enabled so it cannot be used on the display so I thought now would be a better time than ever to start my first build.
I have looked around and found a mother board I would like to use but I am not sure about the compatability with the Thunderbolt Display. The motherboard I have been looking at is the MSI Z77A-GD80 which is shown in the following video being used with the Thunderbolt Display,

I have never built my own rig so if anyone could give some advice on an ideal build on a budget of around £800 or even info on builds supporting the Thunderbolt display I would greatly appreciate it!

So far i'm looking at using a 3770K and a GTX 650 Ti along with that motherboard.

Alright I;m personally looking into thunderbolt enabled motherboards for a hackintosh build I have planned in like 2 months from now. If you want haswell ASUS has the z87 dual/deluxe which has 2 thunderbolt inputs and it's haswell so you get a little for features . Also I know for a fact that gigabyte and Asus have very nice motherboards with thunderbolt with the z77 chipset.

Advice for your GPU:

I would purchase the gtx 650 ti boost for the performance the fact it's a little newer ;came out around Q1 or Q2. If you don't mind brands the AMD 7790 and 7770 are very goods cards for the price

Thanks for the response, appreciate it.

I've opted for another gaming laptop with thunderbolt support. Slightly expensive but I do prefer the portability of a laptop.
I've chosen the Asus G750JX:
