Threadripper Pro 7000 EXPO warranty invalidation?

I just got my threadripperpro system, and going through the process of setting it up was prompted with this nag screen in the BIOS when trying to enable the EXPO profile on my memory. It appears the flag is for the screen is pretty sticky too, as I can’t make it go away, returning every time I try to save my settings, even if I re-disable EXPO without completely resetting the BIOS to defaults.

I understand the check for full on manual overclocking access, but gating XMP/DOCP/EXPO behind this agreement seems nuts. I have naturally read the same tom’s article as everyone else saying that AMD “will work with vendors to change the wording” but it’s April 2024 , this board is brand new with the latest BIOS and the same unambiguous message is here. If you want to use the CPU to the performance advertised AMD reserves the right to decide arbitrarily if your CPU is warrentied or not.

Has anyone run into this on other CPU’s / Boards, how are people handling this, am I the only one bothered by this messaging?

I haven’t pushed Y yet. I can’t bring myself to invalidate the warranty on a chip that costs more than a used car on the first day of ownership, so for now I am stuck at JEDEC RAM speeds, am pretty disappointed, and rethinking my plans to watercool.

Yeah many of us got this massage and it’s covered among various topics but without a real solution. The main problem here is that there is no real statement from Asus or AMD about warranty when you only activate expo…
Its just top annoying to be true. Especially regarding how aggressive both of these companies advertise this shi*.
I bet you read about the AM5 desaster and the shit storm that hit Asus.
I once tried to talk to their support about it, but it’s just wishy washy blablu talk that does lead to nothing.
Its just a big joke. That’s all
