No. Its not about or involving war directly.
It is set in 1945+. Novel was from 1941 and movie released 1979.
IMO its one of those top tier 70mm benchmark films. Cinematography and score, tone and mood carry with very little dialogue.
I almost had a stroke in remembering this one. I havenāt seen it since I was a childā¦ if its the movie I think it is.
