So I get alot of people saying that "Windows 8 this ..." "Windows 8 won't work with that ..." But i really like Windows 8 because of the new clean interface. But should i get windows 7 for light gaming or windows 8?
Get Windows 8, almost all programs that run on Windows 7 will run on Windows 8. Windows 8 also performs much better than Windows 7 overall.

No reason to not get windows 8 if you are making a new build. Now if you already have a copy of windows 7 i couldn't justify upgrading unless you can find a really good sale on it during black friday or something
I have no issues running anything on W8.
Also, W8 with startisback is works like W7. (There are also changes to how UAC works but they are made to make it harder to shoot yourself in the foot. Can be undone with a registry edit if needed).
Windows 8 for sure, for a fresh build. :)
