Thoughts on this cherry popping Gaming PC build

Hey matees I'm thinking about getting the following parts for a build:

AMD A10-5800K 3.8GHZ X4 Black Edition Socket FM2

Gigabyte GA-F2A85X-UP4/A85

G SKill 8G(2x4G)DDR3 1866Mhz PC3-14900(GS-F3-1866C9D-8GAB)

Gigabyte ATI HD7870 OC Ed

Cooler Power Supply 1200W Modular (ATX)

CoolerMaster RC430 Elite Black

Western Digital 1TB SATA3 HDD 32M 7200rpm Caviar Blue

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

I'd be gratefull for any feedback.

Ugh, please don't say that, I now have the image of some kid stuffing a computer tower up their ass (don't question how my mind works).

There are numerous mistakes in here, to list a few, you don't use an A10 if you don't plan on using the IGP. That power supply is outrageously overkill. I'll help you out here, just need your budget and where you live, and I'll give you a solid parts list you can run on.

Sorry about the title, but I had come up with something dramatic. I live in Brisbane, Australia, I'm getting these parts from Umart (http://www.umart.com.au/) my budget is $900 (AUD)

Eesh, Australia isn't my specialty, so I'll rough out what you should change and hope you can make the changes (if they work), perhaps we have an Aussey on this forum who's a bit more comfortable with the AU market.

So, drop the A10 and go for a FX6300. Replace the mobo with a AM3+ board that costs around $100, make sure it has the features you want, also check out this site for a look at the boards stability and OC potential, you'll want to aim for a board with heatsinked mosfets, 6+2 or 8+2 phase count if you can afford it.

The mem, gpu, HDD and cooler are fine. The case is good, but if you can get the version with USB 3.0 on the front or a similar one with it you'll definately appreciate having them when you start getting USB 3.0 devices.

The biggest problem is the PSU, 1200W is WAY too much. Drop down to a 500W PSU, it will give you plenty of power and save you a bundle of cash. Get one from Seasonic, XFX, Corsair or one of the good PSU makers, make sure its 80+ bronze or higher.

Sorry for the vagueness, hope this helps.

Everything he said^ except get like a 650-750W PSU.

500W is enough no doubt but ehh I just like to be safe in the future and not have to worry if it's enough. The A10 is only for budget/casual builds.

Hmm, to be honest I'd generally only recommend higher if XFire or SLI is a future consideration.

So i've sourced a new motherboard an ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0, the FX-6300 and

a different graphics card (GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7950 3GB) and power supply

(Corsair CX-600 V2 600W) and i'm over budget by $5.

The moboard's got heatsinked mosfets and a 6+2 phase count and thanks for the link,

it's very helpful.

Oh perfect, being able to squeeze a HD 7950 in there is fantastic, well done. That board and chip will serve you well.
