Hey everyone, I am planning my first build for gaming/school stuff (some autocad). I came up with this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1g5rk - mostly based off of the "outstanding" build from here http://www.logicalincrements.com/ but with a few changes. I just wanted to get some more oppinions on it and see if there are any changes I can/should make. My max budget is around $1500, but the lower the better. Thanks!
Forgot to add I live in canada, and don't need any peripherals.
why do you need a soundcard?
It's one I have in my current PC, I meant to remove it from the list but forgot.
I see, forget my last build I accidenly removed the mobo
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1gDoZ How is this?
No worries, I was wondering about that. It looked like a pretty good bild though. Are there any advantages of intel over amd, or visa versa?
Well as a rule of thumb i7's are for editing and i5's are for gaming.
The AMD 8350 perforns around about on par with most i5's for gaming and beats them at streaming. Its also a pretty good all round CPU, Its quite good at everything and is unbeatable for the price.
If you go Intel you get better editng and rendering speeds ect.. But not too much in the way of better gaming performance.
The price is definitely more attractive. I'm not attached to any brand but I have always used AMD processors and never had a problem with them.
I would say that Intel tend to get the better motherboards sadly, but the one I suggested is a very good choice despite that. I havent heard bad things about asRocks exetreme series, only good stuff.
Yeah, from what I've ready they seem pretty good. The only reason I was thinking about intel was the better rendering.
