Thoughts on parts list (~2000NZD)

Hey I'm planning on build a new gaming rig. Any suggestions/thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I could get the asus 280x or the vapor-x 280x, thoughts?

Will mostly be gaming, as well as the other general crap. Plan to play some of the next big gen titles such as BF4, GTA 5 (when it comes) and probably Elder Scrolls Online.... But atm I mostly play css and HoN

So, to the parts list: http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/1SZGK

Also, any help with a monitor would be great.. I don't really know a lot, even after doing some research

Thanks!

I tweaked it for you, http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/1USCi

No point in getting the 8350. 8320 is the same chip with a slight under clock, mine oc upto 4.7 happily. Also a faster hdd, better upgrade path for ram, and i squeezed in an ssd from the savings.

Might be cheaper purchasing all from the same place, ive had good experience with computer lounge. Dragon PCs is great if you live in christchurch.

Cant help with the monitor sorry. i scout out broken ones on trademe and fix them, although that one you picked seems like a good price.

Good luck

http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/1UUbz I'd go with this personally.

JTR is right with the CPU, with the FX-8320 you can just overclock it to 4Ghz and wallah, you effectively have an FX-8350.

You don't need a 750w PSU and bronze certified is more than enough quality assurance, even if you got another 280x you wouldn't be breaking 620w, though if you can find a 650w bronze certified then I'd recommend that over the 620w.

The HDD is twice the size of the one you had before. As for JTR's SSD suggestion I don't think it's really necessary, look it more as an optional future upgrade and not one you need right now. All it does is improve load times in games, it doesn't effect actual game performance in any meaningful way and 30 seconds off your boot times and a slightly faster win experience probably isn't worth another $140 at this point.

As for RAM you only need 8GB for gaming, I put in 16GBs, means you can do more multitasking type things if you need to, that and you won't need to worry about upgrading it later on, but if you feel 16 is still too much then by all means just get 8 and save a bit of money.
