Here recently I've been struck with the symptoms of game boredom. It sounds dumb but I've literally haven't found any satisfaction from any of the games in my steam library. I'll admit, they are mostly FPS and puzzle games but I feel like I've been totally satisfied with them until a few days ago. My main question to you guys is that of have you ever been in the same boat and what did you do to solve the situation? What should I dive into and explore?
Play coop/multiplayer. I find games a lot more fun with other people I know.
Singleplayer gets a bit of a bore for me unless it's a game like skyrim or far cry, fecking love hunting.
Don't worry about, this happens to me from time to time and the simplest solution is the most obvious one: Do something else :) Don't force it as you probably wont have a good time anyway if you do. Personally i spend some time on other hobbies/interests, for example working on my programming skills, reading or learning Linux (which is an very efficient and for the most part fun time sink).
I usually take a break from my games and go someplace, for a few days. Then go back to gaming. It works for me, most of the time.
I get game boredom from playing games all by myself. My son doesn't play with me. My daughter doesn't play games. My relatives don't play the same games as me. Also I do not make friends easily with anxiety related issues. At this point I have zero real life friends so no having people over to game. Is any of this an issue for you? If so the only thing you can do is work at changing your life and get more people in it that like the games you like or know how to have fun gaming.
Now another way to have game boredom is that you don't have any other interesting hobbies. You need to get out there and try different things and find other things you like to do. Our lives need balance. If we do not have that we will not be happy.
Topic moved to PC Games section.
please next time post in the correct sections.

+1 for do something else ^
When I'm bored of gaming I just focus more on programming. It's impossible to do the same thing forever and not get bored of it at some point :P
Maybe you could do something that doesn't involve the use of a PC. I know I could do with spending less time on mine.
Yup I have been here. Took me a while to realise what was happening too then it clicked andni searched through my games for something deliberately different.
Knowing what is currently boring you is good though so you can pick something very different.
I also agree with the co-op. Personally borderlands is great for this.
If games in general are boring read, cycle, cook or some other thing. You don't have to stop completely gaming but doing something else soaks up some time so that whennyoi do game you are a little more focused due to the lack of idle time. You actually want to make use of the game time.
it hit me a while back and hasn't gone away. Its a bit better now, but for those few weeks i couldn't get past launching a game.
When I was little I used to drive around on San Andreas obeying traffic laws. I think a lot of people have done that at one point or another. It's a sad thing when a game gets boring.
My solution is to read some books, or novels, or something. Reading always puts me into a state where i want to take control for one reason or another, and that's where video games come into play.
