Thoughts on a potential new build?

Wouldn't mind a little feedback on a parts list I've put together for a build I'm thinking of doing. Gaming is the primary use but I wouldn't mind running a couple of VM's from time to time for tinkering purposes.

CPU: i7-4790K
Cooling: Noctua NH-U12S
Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 1600
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO & 1tb HDD (already have these)
GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 980 4GB STRIX
Case: Fractal Design Define R4
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 650W

The xeon is basically a locked i7, shouldn't bottleneck much though, otherwise I swapped a few things and it's down to $1500 for relatively the same performance, room for a quiet CPU AiO as well, though it's kinda odd that in AUS of all places that cooler is that price, although it doesn't seem like it'd be much better than something like a 212 evo

Don't really wanna go micro atx because of the space limitations and won't go liquid cooled because of a fear of it exploding inside my case haha

What kinda space limitations do you mean? Do you really need like 6 PCI-e slots?

Liquid coolers are pretty safe, and it'll be fairly silent

Space limitations meaning I just like having more room inside either for hard drives or front panel stuff, things like that.

And I'm not really too concerned about the sound an air cooler can make, I've found noctua to be pretty quiet anyway

That case has a 5.25" and some 3.5" slots, how many do you need?

As for the cooler, I mean, it's noctua sure, but I can't imagine it's much different than any other single fan tower cooler, it's not like the higher end ones that come with massive heat sinks and multiple fans

I swapped the case for my personal favorite, but otherwise you could save like 200 bucks or so on the GPU on a 390, but clearly that'd perform worse
