Ok, The most you'll ever see is 8xMSAA in the in-game settings, but...


if you go to CCC, expand 3D, then select Anti-Aliasing...


uncheck use applications settings, move the AA level to 8x, change the filter box to edge detect, and you'll see it shows 24x on Samples. You can click back on applications settings. if you have 4x AA on the game settings, it will really be 12x, or 8xMSAA in the game, and it will really be 24x. However 2x stays 2x.

just tried it on CS and screen seems a little taller and wider.

PFFT clearly the 4970 has less bottleneck by 8 millseconds
