A lot of people seem to believe the 9370 is simply just an overclocked 8350 and I'm inclined to agree. You're paying for a slight overclock, a much higher power draw (125w vs 220w) and a much smaller mobo selection. You can just save yourself some money and do the overclock yourself. I just bought the 8350 myself for $160 so even with the sale on the 9370 I'm saving $60 on something I can just do myself anyway.
you're not paying for on overclock (well you kindof are) you're paying for a better binned chip for superior overclocking potential
also not to mention, it comes with an LC cooler out of the box, so its not realy a bad deal. If you ever plan to go with a powerhungry 8 core, you would not like cheap out on a motherboard anyway. because thats never smart. ☺
Do I have to get like a Sabertooth or could I get away With an ASUS 990 series for around $120?
I'm leaning toward this cpu because of the included cooler for just $20-$30 more than an 8350..
But then again I may "downgrade" and buy the 8320 instead.. uhh there are just some many different opinions on this lol.
But once again.. for my personal needs I don't know if I need a higher end amd cpu.
Just 1080p gaming with probably a 7870 or 270x
No, you're wrong. 220W is the TDP, not power draw. There is a distinct difference; TDP is basically how you rate the power required to cool it. Power draw is the same as an overclocked 8350, so roughly 130W.
