Thinking of building a honeybadger of my own

My mainboard is broke and rma is going to take 3 months to get back. I've decided i'm going to buy a new mainboard and maybe case and take spare parts and my Fractal design arc midi R2 & mobo after RMA and build a productivity PC out of it in 3 months (I've got a spare i3-2100,550W PSU,ODD) while having a working PC for myself for those 3 months.

Functional components I've got:

  • Intel i7-3770k (XIgmatek dark Knight II Knight hawk edition cooler)
  • G.Skill 16gb 1600MHz (2x8GB) RAM
  • OCZ AGILITY 3 SSD
  • Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM HDD
  • EVGA GTX 760 SC w/ ACX cooling
  • LG Blu Ray Burner
  • Bitfenix Recon Fan controller
  • 3xFractal design fans
  • 2xbitfenix spectre blue LED fans
  • 1xbitfenix spectre pro fan
  • Enermax NAXN 82+ 750W

I can donate a fan or two to my brother's pc, as well as the fan controller (he has a bitfenix survivor so it will blend in nicely). I'm just wondering if my components will be compatible if I try to stuff this into a bitfenix prodigy, how much it will set me back (i'm in canada, NCIX is the best place for bitfenix and price matches) and what components i should pick up. Any input would be awesome. Only decision I've made so far: if i do this, definately cobalt blue prodigy.

Why wouldn't this work?

If you just need a new motherboard then just get a miniITX one which suits the socket. If you're overclocking get a overclocking chipset motherboard.

You could wait for the prodigy -m which would allow you to get a m-atx board

from what I understand modulat PSUs are a no-no in the Prodigy? Also, I don't know what mobo logan used in the prodigy. I really don't know which ITX boards are best for Overclocking (with a good VRM etc). There's a few choices :P

I'm really set on a prodigy with a window. Thts sxy.

or not use mini itx case that is larger than micro atx cases

or just use a micro atx case the same size as the prodigy

the only reason i would buy the prodigy is for its looks. my only size requirement is smaller than full tower.

the prodigy is so sxy.
