There’s a catch, they are new and they are a WISP http://www.lsti.net/
Until some point last year AT&T and Time-Warner were the only internet providers in my area. I did a search tonight and found these guys listed.
Some concern: they don't have the actual speeds listed, or installation prices and the website screams start up. Somewhat understandable from a new small time company.
Im going to email them and find out what i can. I can't say I know very much about WISP's and was wondering what kind of questions I should be asking them.
Suggestions? Thoughts?
I just moved and went to a local ISP, GLW, not sure what it stands for (I still live with my parents, and they took care of the internet)
We went from Time-warner with a (I believe) 25mbps, maybe 20mbps I dont remember, and everything was smooth.
I was REALLY hesitant to switch because their highest speed is 12mbps. Which me being me I though that would be super slow and awful.
But it was totally worth it, Oh my God.
Netflix is infinitely faster, I can finally watch Youtube at 1080p without constant buffering.
Only downside I've found was I download steam games at 1.7mb/s rather then 2.7mb/s
This is all on wireless.
I'd say email them or call them and see what their prices/plans are.
Could be totally worth it!
I have a WISP as well, called "Pixius".
I'm getting 2mbps down 1.5mbps up, and paying around $70 for it... Other than the bad speeds I get, my ISP is pretty good.
