Thinking about switching from opensuse to fedora. Thoughts?

So here is the deal. I am doing a fresh install and for the past year I have been using opensuse tumbleweed, and I like it, but there are some things about it that I am not a huge fan of.

Generally speaking packages on opensuse are sometimes............quirky. They are often times bloated and don't work without some tweaking.

I feel like Fedora packages things in a more efficient and stream line way. However this could be a placebo effect.

My big thing at the moment is opensuse makes it a little bit easier to play with display managers and kernel settings which is a life saver when it comes to installing nvidia drivers after a kernel upgrade.

my question is.. is it worth sacrificing the comfort and ease of use yast gives me for a more stream line experience?

I use neither atm, but I've used OpenSUSE in the past. I don't miss yast. To me it was always too much quirk, not enough work. I believe both OpenSUSE and fedora use systemd, so you might like to check out all the

$ ls /usr/{s,}bin/*ctl

commands.

Most likely it'll take you a while to re-find all the settings you used to use, but once found, I doubt you will give it a second thought.
Maybe write a list with all the settings you'd like to be able to change. Then it'll be easier to quickly google the fixes once you get Fedora installed...

Should you decide to format: Have fun installing :)
