Thin out old Synology HyperBackup file to not include current files

Alright, I know there is no answer to this, but I’m asking anyway just incase since the last time I’ve researched this, something has happened

I used to have a Synology NAS and I used HyperBackup. I loved it. I have a 900GB HyperBackup file.

Then, I ditched Synology. I can still use this backup as Synology were smart enough to include a client you can use to browse and restore from the backup.

The problem is that I don’t really want to store 900GB of data I still have, and now backup via other means. Is there any way to thin out the backup file to not include any data, or versions of data that are currently present? This backup goes all the way back to 2015 to 2020, and I don’t really want to just delete it

If the end outcome is that I can’t I’m okay just keeping the 900GB file, but I sure would love it if it was smaller
