I am intrigued as I was on the lookout of a way to lower coolant temps. I had thought about using a heat exchanger on the rad hooked up to a refrigerated unit. What scares and excites me is the disclaimer that CPU temps can drop well below freezing at idle! And that measures must be taken to combat condensation.
Anyone with first hand experience of such witchcraft?
Ello, been busy so apologies for the lateness of the reply. That's very kind. The one you have looks awesome but i can't find a 2011v3 one. I have a H110 at the moment which gives decent temps for sure but i wanted something between a pot of liquid nitrogen and a closed loop water cooling solution. I can't be doing with custom loop cooling just yet (brand new parts and i wouldn't want to fuck them all up with a leak on my first custom loop build).
What CPU do you have under it and what kind of temps do you get at idle and under load?
Well currently its sitting in my closet it was originally going to go on my APU (before I built my water cooling loop) but the AMD bracket some how broke so I really can't give you any numbers on performance. TEC tower heatsinks still exist so you can give a tower a try
First of all, i don't have one of these TEC-Coolers but i know how this would work.
So you have to keep in mind, that peltierelements have a very very low efficiency. I think it's unter 5 % or something so you have to spend much energy, wich has to be lead away by your watercoolingunit.
