Thermal Paste

I plan on getting the Cooler Master Hyper 212+ cpu cooler, but what i want to know is if its worth to spend onther $10 on high quality thermal paste on a lower end cpu cooler.  The Hyper 212 comes with thermal paste already so should I use that?

I just ordered some of this and plan on using it on my hyper 212 I have on the way. People on the forums recomeneded this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186038

Do it, the Hyper 212 is good and has thermal mass, but the thermal paste that comes with it for me was underwhelming.

I don’t do a lot of over clocking so the thermal paste Cooler Master provides has been fine for me. Think of it like this, do you think Cooler Master would compromise their name and product by supplying lousy paste? Yes there is better paste out there and by all means go out and get it but if you are not into hard core over clocking the supplied paste is good. I have used it on 4 computers with no problems. As always, this is just my opinion.

^ Hes completley right, it will definietley do the job a hell of a lot better than stock, but if you want to squeez every last bit of vooling power out of it youll need some better thermal paste, unless you want to OC high or have the absolute best temps (im one of those people) then the regulard paste should work really well.

hmm.. so basiclly since i wont be doing much overclocking and the extra $10 could have gone for a better cooler instead of thermal paste in the price range, I shouldn't worry about it....

Thanks for the advice

Yup, as long as you aren't running into thermal issues but if you are it's likely not the paste.
