Any thoughts about a War Z server yet?
Since it's on Steam. I wonder is it on beta still? Or War-Z is now an offical release?
Not even it is in Alpha I feel they are doing a minecraft style launch where you can buy your way into the game prerelease, however there are some issues with the game if you really want to know what they are imparticular go on reddit right now they are having a fit
The game is fine. People on Reddit are fusing because they didnt give what was promised, but then again it was JUST released and the things they promised are cmoing.
well if its in "alpha" or beta its not finnished so they need to stop bitching at reddit, also on a sidenote alpha testing is an internal testisting phase done from within a developer enviroment, beta testing is a public testing phase done outside the developer enviroment and trialed in a comsumer enviroment be it software or a physical product. there is more to it in detail than that buts this is just conclusion of what alpha/beta testing is.
According to the devs its in "Foundation Release"... I have the game, I bought it, and I quite enjoy it. It's a good game to play with friends and imagining yourself in that enviornment. As though, I do believe the marketplace should take away some of the items. Here's the link on the dev speaking,

You should definitely should not buy it... yet.
I dont know why it's on Steam if it is not a finished game. I guess VALVe wont mind if it gets the money,
Issues with game so far (from watching gameplay and reading reviews):
-You cant swim
-You pay for the game, AND there is a rather unusual microtransaction store with items that you can then LOSE.
-Zombies cant get you if you stand on lets say, a car.
-60 minute respawn cooldown per character.
-Zombies everywhere, so until you get a weapon you are pretty screwed (maybe trying to bait people into buying weapons with real money)
-Bad graphics/textures, gameplay and optimisation (understandable if early development, but again, why is it "released" on STEAM!!)
Watch Total Biscuits video on it. Love him or hate him, the facts are facts. And the game is not on a releasable state.
Don't worry they are still going to add in the stuff they promised. Probably January - February you'll see a lot of the stuff come out. They are pretty good about listening to their customers so just be patient. Even still the game is kick ass you should grab a copy.
Swim is correct, no swimming.
The store is pretty self explanitory, if you buy an item then die in the game and the item gets looted, it's gone. Good thing about the store is you can loot money in the game and use that in the store..
Zombies cannot get you on most cars/trucks and theres a lot of them around where if you don't have a weapon you can hop from one car to the next in cities. Trust me i've been in a pickle at compos and had a group laughing at me :[.
It takes an hour for each character but you're allowed 5 charecters and you'll be able to respawn in the same server to grab all your loot if you're lucky! Also you can delete characters if they have absolutely nothing and create a new one and be able to play right away.
There are a LOT of zombies recently and it's almost impossible to loot without a melee weapon or like a kruger with some mags. That will attract other people though..
Graphics are pretty awesome I like them. Game is not Official yet, they only put it on steam to get more players. It's only for a short time right now so grab a copy while it's on sale!
For what its worth. The game has out now is definitely worth the $14. These little things will be done later on (idk about the swimming seems like it wont be implemented) as it is already a good game now, I can just imagine later on when everything has been implemented already.
Definitely agree with that. I paid $25 for the game a few weeks back and im happy with the purchase! Can't wait until they implement vehicles. Should be very soon!
I don't see the point in buying it if Dayz standalone is coming out in the next month/month and a half. It seems like a money grab, the internet seems to agree, and the game got pulled off steam for crying out loud. Only real reason to buy it is if you hate the arma engine, but from what gameplay i've seen it seems just as janky and broken but not in the same charming manner as Dayz.

The steam sale was designed for only a few days. However it's hard to judge a game without playing it :P Unless you're biased through other peoples opinions. Either way they're both fun to play.

Now that the game is off steam, it should be interesting to see if it gets back on.

TOS Ripped directly from League or Legends to the point that they left the LoL link in there.
Blatant copy rip off of Day-Z that was in fact not in development before, that was them counting the time developing the other game they made that they then stole almost all the assets from to make War-Z
The box are was actually zombies pulled right from the Walking Dead.
They lied on their steam page, you do not release a beta for sale on Steam and even so they did nothing to indicate that the promised points weren't actually in the game or anything to indicate a beta.
Paid game with a cash shop.
I don't even care enough about this shit game/developer to discuss where it/they went wrong. I mean, it's so fucking obvious. Just thought it was.. interesting that people were sticking up for the game and the developers. Both of them have been getting torn to shreds across the board. The fact that the devs are charging money for this "game" is laughable. You can't just ignore the precedents set by free-to-play games on Steam. Oh for fuck's sake, I don't want to waste another second of my life typing out the obvious. Plain and simple: this game is pure robbery. Not only of your money, but of your time. It's basically murder!
I bought the game excited for the fact of a standalone Day Z game, I thought this is what it was. With that said, I started playing and was enjoying it quite a bit. Yes it has its bugs but the company is banning hackers like crazy and paying 15 bucks for an unfinished game with the hope of it being developed seemed fair to me. Not until I came to read these things did I find out everyone hated the game.
So yes, it is unfinished and when you download the game it says it is in alpha ... i don't see any secrets there. Didn't we all pay a few bucks for minecraft when it was in alpha and beta and watch the price slowly go up? Sounds like alot what this company is doing but they are forced to do it on a larger scale due to the development costs.
I just hopped on this boat though, I didn't feel as though I was "scammed" by this company.
