It already exists. It's called... "real life"
I can't imagine the game having all the features they are claiming and still being fun and compelling. especially if the game cant maintain a large userbase. I don't see this going anywhere.
The reason most people play video games is because it immerses you into a world not of this world. If games were realistic, a lot of us wouldn't play them. It would take years for them to develop this game, I don't see this becoming much of a interest for a ton of people.
It seems cool, but I don't think they will make it. They have no proof and also look at their website, there is nothing to show.
Reminds me of Spore
Think this is a silly game. Just go do it in real life, make real money, win in REAL LIFE. I am all for video games, but they put me in situations that are pretty unlikely of happening. Not going to pick some dam fake apples to make some dam fake money.
Games like this already exist, For example Entropia Universe. However there are a few people including myself who are working on their own version, Some based on a planet similar to ours. Others like myself working on a game based on another planet, with different forna/flora. What it really comes down to is how its implemented and if its what people want to play. The share size of the files is rediculous. Just for a map of 200km^2 with nothing other than terrain and water, is 200Mb's For entropia universe, The size of just one planet is 3Gb's. You could do something like second life but there are major limitations. I doubt anyone including myself will get much done in the large scheme of things within the next 5-10 years. And again it all depends on how technology evolves. If the desktop dies, I doubt this game will be made. Keep an eye out for this game and Project Licentia, My project.
