THE TEK Software and Hardware

Hey Super-Mega-Awesome-Prefix Beard-man known by the name of Doctor Mister Sir Lord Logan,

I know this question has been somewhat answered before, but I wasn't able to find exactly what I was looking for and a couple of new stuff has probably been added since then so here goes:

What software and hardware do you use to shoot and edit THE TEK? Specifically, I am curious about the software you use to switch between views of yourself, Wendel, the view of the news, and the view of the two of you on the side/bottom with the news. It seems like an interesting piece of software, but my inferior mind does not know what it is so I pose my question to you.

Your show is awesome and so is your beard. Also, someone should get Wendel a pet walrus. It would be awesome.

Thanks a bunch,

ZefyrPyon

Do not quote me, but I do believe they are using OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) for capturing the video. Not sure about editing.
My own note on that - I just started using OBS and doing some streaming on occasion and its a freaking GREAT program. Took me all of an hour to figure it all out, set-up lower thirds, multiple scenes, bring in a voice chat program, etc. Look up some how to videos on youtube and you will be rocking with it in no time.

Logan does use OBS, i've seen numerous time where he shows his desktop and i can see OBS in the taskbar, or when he Alt+Tab. You can see it in his video about Windows 10, the title of the video is "Windows 10 - It's actually not terrible"

What do you use OBS for, Carl?

I started streaming on Twitch.tv/hinkelcl. I have only really done bits of one game so far, which is Elder Scrolls Online, but I have plans for more soon. Also looking at trying out some other stuff. Who knows may completely crash and burn, but you never know unless you try. It's fun and gives me something to do in my spare time.

Logan also talks a lot about Adobe suite, so I would assume that is what he uses for the video editing.

Just a little FYI - "Technically" this is for people who already bought and own the software - but Adobe took their activation servers for the CS2 Suite offline. If you have an Adobe account, you can go here and download the entire suite. Just no support and no updates. Works great for me.
