7/11 just licenses the brand, you may or may not have come across any but you can also find stores that mimic the colors in an attempt to look like a 7/11 as its becoming more and more universally recognized

I know you guys were being funny. But OMG people have no idea how much the moon means to us. It is not just a pretty ball in the sky. People have no idea what the moon actually does for us. I hear people speak of mining the moon. This is a bad bad bad bad can't emphasis bad enough idea. The reason we exist here now in this life form is that everything exists just the way it is, and it is those exact conditions that we were created from. If we take away the conditions that make life in our form possible then we will all cease to exist.

The moon used to be closer to earth millions of years ago but it is slowly moving farther away. But they say it will be millions of years so we and our descendants are in the good on that for a bit :) but if we do anything to the moon like mine it or anything and change it's density we could make it move away faster. Kind of like how we are accelerating global warming. I know blah blah blah there is a natural cycle but no doubt we are living on the edge, pushing the earth to her limits with our global destruction via poisoning the entire planet. But enough about that we are talking moon here.

The moon is like the heart beat of the earth. I can't stress it enough. The moon controls our tides. It controls our tides because as it passes around the earth the gravity of it bulges the earth much like our heart how it functions. It's gravity also bulges the ocean as it goes and hence we have tides. It also squeezes the earth and keeps it dynamic and alive. It moves the mantle. I can't stress the importance of the moon enough. It is the heart of the earth. If anything ever happens to the moon we are all F#@*! seriously though. The earth would die, it would look much like mars does. I know your story was great. But It made me want to just say something on behalf of that shiny ball in the sky that is our very life source. Doesn't seem like it but it is. It is much more that just looking pretty............Please corporations hands off our ball....This is for realz.....

Wow. I am so stoked for virtual reality.

Virtual desktops wasn't something I considered. This is going to be amazing.

They could have named it 3Desktop! But what do they do? Name it like a casual thing we had for years... COME ON!

Great. I watched the tek on youtube, and now I get suggestions for VR porn. I don't know how the google suggestion system works exactly, but if you see a guy walking down the street wearing google glass VR, and he's sporting wood, don't bother trying to interact with him.

I thought Tek Syndicate was porn. You know... tech porn?

But VR and porn go hand in hand, so I'm not surprised.

What will happen when the different companies developing AI's start merging and spinning off different divisions? Will the AI's eventually get merged together to become one skynet? Will they remain seperate AI "egos", and target each other as competition? Right now I realize the programmers have a lot of say in how an AI operates and what it's objectives are. At what point would that change, if at all? This is a bewildering topic for me to really understand. I can see inherent dangers with AI, but at the same time, it's hosted on machines that can be unplugged. Maybe.

If I get the gist of this AI right, an AI is basically a computer program that has an instruction set that has it look around a system or the internet within certain parameters. Then it can compile information and use that to change it's own instruction set? And it does it all over again, every time "evolving" it's own parameters. This is also under the watchful eye and coding of it's creators, of course. I guess I'm trying to answer my own questions here, but my understanding of this topic is kindergarden level.

Intelligence is defined [by the German Duden] as "Ability to think abstract and reasonable to get to a self defined goal."
You got it right, I suppose. There needs to be a start (instruction set, goal, etc.) from which everything evolves.
My understanding is close to 0 on the technology part but I feel confident in the "philosophical" part.

Edit: Just had an idea: Isn´t intelligence the point at which one goes "That is strange"?

Almost everything humans do is strange. If an AI does become intelligent, we are in trouble:) I would think intelligence also requires perceptions or some kind of sensory input. If the internet, cameras, and microphones make up it's input, it will have a very limited input compared to regular living things.
