My dad actually works at one of the buildings across from the Eatsa place in San Francisco, might go check it out while visiting one of these days.
I hate to burst any bubbles already but japan has had automated vending machine restaurants since like the 70s.
Around the 20:00 mark, I actually think this SJW crap is forcing people to be hypersensitive. Nobody can say the wrong thing, nobody wants to sound racist or sexist. This is why Donald Trump is doing so well, because people internally want to fight against this squelching of free speech by political correctness.
This is why I love MDE, because everything this guy does is offensive, but it's all satire and parody. We need more people like him to push what's acceptable in jokes / passing. That way, when people post a video to facebook, they aren't necessarily concerned about judgements and criticisms from others about what your ideology is as a person, and more along the lines of : hey, this is a video I found entertaining.
Basically the video or the idea doesn't have to be such a huge deal or a part of you as to indicate where you stand politically or culturally. So really... my point is that political correctness is the sword and shield by which dissent is pushed back into the recesses of our mind, because of our fear of criticism and judgement.
I don't really think people fear what the government keeps in a dossier on us. It's more along the lines of friends, family, and coworkers. Essentially a perfect panopticon that uses social norm to fight against ideas that oppose the establishment.
This also goes back into facebook as an overarching tool of transparency. Except, we have to monitor who we let in, and what we say, as everything is so easily transmitted. Every idea or connotation can reach the wrong ears, depending on who you accept as a friend. If you start posting drug memes ans you have your boss on your facebook for example, that wouldn't be very smart. Despite it being totally stupid to do, it's equivocal in the sense, that you wouldn't post your political leanings on facebook, in fear of disagreement or disapproval from people in positions of power in your life.
Wow that's an awesome deal guys. I just bought cambankord.tech
It will be my domain for my resume / CV. Perfect
$5.00 is a steal.
I also got cmdroot.com a while ago :). still have to do something with it on my VPS. I use OVH for my provider.
Ready for anything
Can I ask an honest, open question to Wendell and Logan? I think I noticed a little bit of this in Logan's mannerisms and expressions in this episode but do you guys ever get sick of reporting on our sad state of politics or the shinnanigans of our tech giants like Apple and Amazon? I mean I know it's your bread and butter but you guys are are smart and have a large following now. Surely we could be creating together instead of constantly talking about how sad things are and trying to fix a generation we cannot change (the older generation).
This isn't a flame btw this is meant to be thought provoking. :)
Con
Logan is going to come to my house? oh no...........

The choice is with us still, but the civilization now in jeopardy is all humanity. As the ancient myth makers knew, we are children equally of the earth and the sky.
In our tenure on this planet we've accumulated dangerous evolutionary
baggage — propensities for aggression and ritual, submission to leaders,
hostility to outsiders — all of which puts our survival in some doubt.
But we've also acquired compassion for others, love for our children and
desire to learn from history and experience, and a great soaring
passionate intelligence — the clear tools for our continued survival and
prosperity. Which aspects of our nature will prevail is uncertain,
particularly when our visions and prospects are bound to one small part
of the small planet Earth. But up there in the immensity of the Cosmos,
an inescapable perspective awaits us. There are not yet any obvious
signs of extraterrestrial intelligence and this makes us wonder whether
civilizations like ours always rush implacably, headlong, toward
self-destruction. National boundaries are not evident when we view
the Earth from space. Fanatical ethnic or religious or national
chauvinisms are a little difficult to maintain when we see our planet as
a fragile blue crescent fading to become an inconspicuous point of
light against the bastion and citadel of the stars. Travel is
broadening. - Carl Sagan

I sincerely doubt we will ever see Hyperloop in Slovakia. The corruption and government thievery is so high around here, that the deal will be off within weeks of dealing with our government. We have these fake lefttist asshats, that spend (steal) 900 millions euros on a non-functional e-government website made by high-school students.
The thing that kills me about the whole exclusive VR thing is that I don't believe any kind of specialized software is absolutely necessary. I remember a few years back that a (now abandoned) project existed that provided a driver that would automatically make D3d games stereo anaglyph. In addition, I don't believe that it would be that difficult to map out the accelerometers to a virtual mouse.
I used to be an anarchist. Maybe I still am in the sense that I don't think we need leaders or rulers.
A while ago, I followed Stefan Molyneux. I learned all about the non aggression principle and self ownership, humanity... but when you reduce human existence down to force or fraud, or peaceful exchange of ownership through goods and services, then you are already starting down a path that is ultimately reductionist and invariably not the way the world works.
My meaning of that statement is, that if you want to change society to remove all state organizations, then you are relying on people whom are also in power through finances, to not use force or fraud or even coercion, on many different levels, against you. You don't necessarily have to physically force someone, to force their hand... you can financially do it, and that would be coercive.
You cannot expect everyone to follow the rules and stay within the lines. It's a propensity to game the system, essentially game theory, to rule over others in any way possible, if you can achieve this power disparity. True anarchy can never be achieved in a capitalist system.
In my mind, the government is a necessary evil, for the time, as we require the bankers essentially, of a monopoly board, to maintain a hierarchy that is fair. Despite this, they aren't doing their job, and nobody is the wiser. In laissez faire capitalism, minus the socialist elements that are now being put forth, we need board rules and people to enforce them, to protect ourselves from financial coercion and unfair capitalist practices.
I recommend you watch the full debate. It really puts things into perspective. After reading Guns, Germs, and Steel, I'm convinced that the market system creates a government by design, by a tribal conscription of resources to hold and maintain a reserve. Ever since the neolithic revolution, we have had people farming, and maintaining a pool of resources for the tribe (a chief / tribe leader). the only difference between the government and corporations is that the government is legally allowed to use force against you. Which I disagree with, but at times, is necessary to maintain civilization. Just take a look at our history, despite the government utterly failing at protecting us from fraudulent banks, I highly doubt that any anarchist or person would be opposed to breaking them up and redistributing their massive stolen wealth among the people.
As long as the food is good, don't really care too much for human interaction. I am there to get food, not have long conversations with a worker unless they are really interesting to talk to. Come on, there isn't much human interaction when you go get some mcnuggets from the drive thru in McDonalds.
Despite using the Internet for most of the day, I do need sunlight to remind myself that there is more to life than a computer and it can be refreshing to seeing natural light versus the light you see on a screen.
I have been lately losing my respect for Oculus in terms of how they are doing VR. Of course I still have to give them credit for starting VR to begin with if it weren't for them. Guess things really turn crap when Facebook gave them a shitload of money but I was naive.
Cryengine was really late to the pricing model for their engine. They should have made it free since last year at GDC where both Unreal and Unity made their engines free for developers.
That System Shock remake looks really awesome. Can't wait for that in the coming few years along with System Shock 3.
Obviously CryZenX cannot make a Zelda game out of this since it would be copyright infringement (even if it was free) and Nintendo has the right to shut him down, but I don't see the harm though for both parties. Still, its nice he is just playing around with it.
EDIT: That Unity Adam demo blew my damn mind. It looks freaking amazing and running real time 1440p on a GTX 980 is insane even though it is rendering a small environment and not much is going on besides an army of robots. Can't imagine what we can achieve when developers get their hands on 14/16nm GPUs like AMD's Polaris and Nvidia's Pascal.
I said something similar on previous TEK when the Hyperloop was mentioned. Even if it was actually built, only the rich/politicians would use it. Therefore it would be waste of money.
I'm really looking forward see what you guys do with the .tech sites. I did get one, because $5 is a good deal, but $50 regularly is a little nuts. Not sure how many of those they are expecting to sell to.
