About "sponsored" kids shows on TV, you people brought some childhood memories back to me.
G.I. Joe, TMNT, and Transformers used to be broadcasted nationwide in Greece. I had some toys from each franchise :D
I also remember that toy stores used to distribute advertisement pamphlets just outside of the schools, and we used to look at the toys during classes, and the teacher was scolding us.
@wendell@Logan@DeusQain So where did the MP3 downloads for The Tek go? I remember downloading Episode 0201 from somewhere on the site so I could listen to it while driving but since then I havent seen links to the MP3's... Or alternativaly would you consider uploading them to Sticher? Its a podcast app that I use daily. Its great about informing me of new uploads and even downloads them to my phone in advance, for my listening pleasure. As a OTR truck driver I fucking love that app and am currently listening to about 20 different podcasts. Sadly The Tek is still the only one that I have to go to youtube to listen too... Well thanks guys and keep up the great work!
I know I'm probably the only firearms geek on here. However there is a national machinegun registry and you legally have to have any short barreled rifle, machine gun, short barreled shotgun, any other weapon(catch all bullshit category). or silencer registered as it. You want to see some really stupid laws look into firearms laws. They're terrifying how bad they are.
Please don't use telegram, it stores plaintext of your full conversation unless you manually turn that off, plus the crypto it uses is known to be fundamentally broken/bad by all of academia and infosec people.
There was a video a fair few months back of a laser defense system shooting down incoming mortars, which is pretty impressive. Maybe someone has the link handy.
haha, you are right. https://eprint.iacr.org/2015/1177.pdf Turns out they implemented their own algorithm, breaking the first rule of secure cryptography.
Well, poop. That paper is only a week old, though. Initially I thought they'd used standard DH key exchange on top of some standard protocol. Not sure why, though.
What's great is that in 1986, a new law was passed that make manufacture of new machine guns illegal for civilians without some sort of work use, like selling to police/military, or being contractors.
So it's not just any random shoe lace. It's that particular one! A lot of our recent (like last fifty years or so) firearm laws are really terrible and arbitrary.
I'm not sure what Logan and Wendell meant about not having to be on a list for having a machine gun but... To own an automatic weapon (assuming you are in a state where you can) you have to fill out a class III to own the automatic weapon. Which I'm pretty sure owning any class III involves being in a database. Also known as a Form 4 which must be sent with photos to the ATF including finger print, money, and local LEO sign off (if applicable).
