As expected the Steam summer sale has started today at 10:00 PDT (UTC-7). The amount of traffic to the steam site has caused errors, so you'll have to be patient when trying to access the store. Already, we see a decent number of games have already popped up with discounts on them. Also, the community choice game sale voting has started, so make sure to vote on which game you want to see on sale. Don't forget to put any games you want on sale on your wishlist, then you'll be notified when they are put on sale. Anyways, happy spending!

Yeah I just bought over $100 to $200 the first day. All of it for my friends. Accidently bought a second copy of a few game packs due to steam's server overload. Oh well. Mg friends were happy.
