The sky is the limit

Im looking for the best build money can buy. I have no budget and want to play all my games on Ultra settings at 1080P. No expense is to great.

For gaming at 1080p, there is really no need to go any higher than this.

Of course, since you said you have no budget, I assume you are looking for something utterly absurd. I'll be back with some outrageous overkill in a minute.

Ugh, I hate it when people come in and say "BUILD ME SUPOOOOOOR PC," but don't give a real budget. If you want, I can put together a 24 core Xeon setup, with quad Titans, 256GB of ECC reg memory, a few TB of RAID 5 SSDs, with a real LSI card, a Case Labs, super custom loop, and just ridiculous amounts of awesome, but why? AnArmyPig's rig is pretty damn great for the money, and will max out 1080p any day.

If I were financially masochistic, this is what I would buy. You will definitely want to do a custom loop with this build, which will take some time and research, and involves a lot of personal preference, so I did not include any parts for that in the build.

Let me reiterate, there is no reason whatsoever to spend more than $1000 for 1080p gaming, you would have to be batshit insane to buy this build.

everybody has a budget.

Let's build a good system... just for fun.

  • CPU: http://amzn.to/11QbyDc
  • Motherboard: http://amzn.to/13HtOD7 (yes for gaming and everything else)
  • RAM: http://amzn.to/163vsnw
  • CPU cooler: http://amzn.to/1bIZSd1
  • Case: http://amzn.to/17QMcvZ (keep things quiet)
  • GPU: get two of these: http://amzn.to/123h7P4  - Two of those is cheaper than a good 780 and will be faster if the game supports Crossfire... also, the new drivers fix the frame pacing. I still prefer a single GPU... but at $300 per card it's insane.
  • PSU: gold and silent: http://amzn.to/1glcQyb
  • SSD: Get a few of these: http://amzn.to/1cvQW9F
  • HDD: and a few of these: http://amzn.to/ZDUQuk

Not me

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Even Logan answered my question. That's pretty freaking awesome!

Then this:

24 core Xeon setup, with quad Titans, 256GB of ECC reg memory, a few TB of RAID 5 SSDs, with a real LSI card, a Case Labs, super custom loop, and just ridiculous amounts of awesome

i think some of us are misunderstanding "no budget", it doesn't mean beast workstation, op clearly states a goal of what he wants so it's pointless to post something that will pass that goal by a significant margin

relevent information needed is the framrate of the monitor, if it's 60hz than a single 7970 is plenty, if it's 120/144hz 2 might be right, but 4 titans will be wasted potential

also amd event is like a week away

Well, maybe I'm thinking outside the box a little, but if you got all this money, why not invest in a better monitor?

Maybe 4k ;)

still can't run Crysis 3

Exactly. That'd be something to feed your 4 titan build.

na lets build a system for fun then!!!

you only have to add a bunch of 1440P monitors if the sky is the Limit then you won´t game on 1080P.

Lol with these builds you never even see proof that they built it in the end i sort of agree with brennanriddell
