I bought the KRK rokit 8s G3 yesterday at guitar center. I am buying the Audio interface on friday. The speakers are AWESOME even through a 3.5mm jack
A proper pair of monitors won't need to be played loud to hear all the detail, but monitors are also unforgiving in what they reveal. I heard they make mp3s sound like crap. I think the majority of people's music collections are still in mp3.
I just use Logitech whatever 2.1 $50 speaker setup, and have a schitt stack + headphones when i want to get fancy. Works pretty good imo
