Fair enough. It's worked well enough so far for me, but on my next PCI passthrough build in a few months, I plan on just passing a USB controller through so I can hotswap USB devices while the VM is running.
And yeah, I don't blame you for not recommending it in your guide if you aren't' comfortable with it yourself. If anyone is interested in trying it though, I'm happy to offer what I know of it.
