The Odyssey of Zippy: the 5th level (Linux) Wizard

Ok so this is literally all I've had time to do over the past two day but here it is:

The color scheme is the openSUSE Dark Alternative one, the GTK theme is Menda Dark which matches the QT theme pretty well, my icons as well as my desktop theme are Maia. I did find just a random SUSE icon and use that as the logo as the default theme uses the Manjaro logo as I simply took their themes off of GitHub. Here are the GitHub links:

The dock at the bottom is Plank, and I feel despite making Plasma look a lot like OS X it feels more intuitive.

Cool, I too have been struggling.

Here is what I have.

That's sleek. I love the dark theme and the flat icons. Did you ever manage to get slingshot working? I remember you having asked q question about it.

Nope. It just says command not found.

But honestly, the whole pantheon desktop is dead to me.

Ever since dash to dock got a major tune up, my issues with gnome have pretty much been resolved.

If gnome could add some nice blur like KDE did and shrink their title bars by like two pixels, I would pretty much be set forever.

Or if KDE adopted the dash :)

I see them supporting a very under developed dash option, but they would never fully support a dash.

Too many people rely on the way KDe works now.

I don't see how it would obstruct workflow. If people didn't like it they could disable it just as Plamsa uses a menu similar to finder on os x that can be replaced with a Windows like menu. It's not like it's a million gigabytes either... People are weird like that I guess.

Thought there was a dock widget for KDE maybe it hasn't been updated to Plasma5 yet. I personally like Cairo dock the best.

Love Cairo dock but it wasn't it the SUSE repos. Plank is !minimalistic. I think it uses gtk instead of qt though. It's minimal and I like minimal. The widgets with plasma haven't been updated and probably won't be until 5.4 in August. As a matter of fact qt 5.4 is already out...

The Packman repos opens up the package manager a bunch

search cairo-dock for opensuse.

Add the X11:utilities repo to your repo list and install cairo-dock.

Bam, problem solved.

For those seeking a theme that merges both with QT and GTK then check this out:

I use the dark breeze theme now with Plasma. I'll upload screens later. I'm too lazy to right now. There is an issue with the magnifier and the dark breeze theme however; when you zoom in you can see the... I guess you could call it the HUD. You can see the bar at the top and any UI elements it's just that they're grayed out. I reported the bug and they said they'd have it fixed before the next version of plasma releases which I assume is 5.3.1. Loving Plasma. It's the best DE I've ever used. Just a tip. Press Alt and space at the same time to bring down a search menu similar to finder on OS X.
