The kernel crashes on boot after installing a second GPU

Hey there

I am trying to set a GPU passtrogh. I installed Arch linux and some basic stuff including the nvidia proprietary drivers for my GTX 740. Then I installed an R9 270X, which will be the card I'll pass trough, and when I tried to boot I got an error ( probably the kernel), It prints some weird numbers, AMD-VI, and some other stuff. Do you know what can I do??

You could provide us with further information, like:

  • Did you blacklist the radeon driver?
  • What kernel parameters did you add to grub config (if any)?
  • Could you give some of these "weird numbers" if possible a screenshot / photo ?

I added amd_iommu=on in the kernel parameters. Besides that I didn't blacklist Radeon both because I don't have any Radeon driver installed and because I should be able to boot in the desktop and launch Xorg with two gpu installed.
Unfortunately I won't be able to access my machine before Wednesday, I'll post some "weird numbers" eventually.

Strange fact: I can't launch the manjaro live cd with the R9 270x, it says "Radeon invalid rom content", I guess the reason is the same. If I pull out the and card everything works fine
