Yeah the US is become an Oligarchy, with bought and paid for figure heads.
But they can't really stop technology...
All this is going to do is force a nerd immune response.
- This is going to piss off sysadmins to no end, because making a system intentionally bad goes against every fibre of their being. They could just decide to turn off the United states of America. Literally. And demand to fix the internet regulation.
- Or slightly less confrontational, if nerds decide to do their own Non profit internet, ISP won't be able to compete. Also, network-admin beats lawyer, because technology beats rules on paper.
The "bigwigs" don't really control any of the technology

Seriously though, we need to make our own non profit internet! Or grab our pitchforks and take to the streets and show the ISP's that they can't do whatever they want.
Well one thing that people have been working on is bitcloud. I cant remember how exactly it will work but somewhat like a vpn of sorts.
oh and of course we can't forget that the senate has brought back CISPA.
