I did this back in 2012 because I thought it would be a really great read. I only got like 2 replies that I remember. But I thought none the less that it was a great topic, and since 2017 is only a handful of days away, I'd make a new list for 2017.
I still think that a Single Player campaign is the BIG thing for games. I don't play many multiplayer games. The ones I do play have somewhat of a story to it and can be played Solo.
Star Trek Online is a good example. It can be fun with other people, but can be just as fun on your own.
But this year I'm only excited for three games. How pathetic is that? In previous years, I would have at least 4 or 5 titles that I would actually consider picking up day one. But so far, I'm only interested in 3. And one of them doesn't have a PC release!
Here are the games that tickle my fancy for 2017:
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Resident Evil 7
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Yep, those three are seriously my ONLY games I'm looking forward to. And I'm gonna have to buy a new CONSOLE to play the third one. Now don't get me wrong. I don't mind consoles. Hell at some point or another I've owned them all. And just recently got a new PS4 Pro for Christmas.
I'm saddened that out of the 50 or so titles that have been announced or teased, I only have 3. I'm starting to wonder if I should be less picky and start playing the crapware casual games on my phone like everyone else seems to. Most the time I can't get behind them. They seem too simplistic, and more apt to be played by my kids.
I don't know. Is it just the fact that I'm finally getting too old? Did I experience the best of gaming in the 80's to early 2000's? Seems the quality, and the stories told by video games has fallen as of late, and I've been left wanting. It sucks.
What are you guys looking forward to? What are your opinions on my observations? Please I want to see what you all think!

Games I am interested off this list at this website (https://www.vg247.com/2016/12/21/video-game-release-dates-2017/) -
- For Honor (I am concerned about various things that have come out about the game but I will be interested to see how it plays. I definitely will rent this for Xbox One or PS4.)
- Sniper Elite IV (It should be 3D so yet another 3D game to add to my library.)
- Ghost Recon: Wildlands (I love open world games and so more attempts at this the better.)
- Styx: Shards of Darkness (I really liked what I played of the first one but far from completing it. I hope this second one will be good as I will eventually get around to playing it and completing it in the next life.)
- Friday the 13th: The Game (I saw a preview video by Jim Sterling. I hope it turns out well as it would be nice to add another game for people to play at Halloween.)
- Tom Clancy's The Division DLC (I'm hoping for a good price on the season pass for Xbox One soon in Canada.)
- Old Time Hockey (Whatever the heck that is I don't know but seeing a new hockey game brought out is always good. All we really have is EA right now unless you go with some sims.)
- Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 (Well a sniping game so the pace is slowed down and I get to relax a bit while playing a game.)
- Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition (I love the first game but didn't get enough play time in with others so looking forward to the new game.)
- Knack 2 (I hope they raise the difficulty with this title.)
- Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Every game in this series I have played I have liked so yeah I will at least rent this and play it.)
- State of Decay 2 (Reminder ... got to finish the first one.)
- Red Dead Redemption 2 (I know this is a game my son will play with me so definitely on my list of games to buy at launch or close to it.)
Eh I maybe missed some in the list that I'd want to play but this is a good amount to add to my back log 4 life.
Happy gaming everyone!
It's not confirmed for 2017, but I would be surprised if it wasn't, but the new God of War looked awesome when it was shown this year.

I would re-emphasize Red Dead 2 (though the Dec 31 release date will probably be postponed), and also The Last of Us 2 though idk when that's coming out.
The unreleased games in my steam wishlist...
Honestly, aside from Hand Of Fate 2 I am not looking forward and I am not really excited for any other game.
