The Division

Installed it yesterday and played it for half an hour

runs flawless (sad that this is a plus point with the state of modern pc gaming)
the graphics are awesome
gameplay seems fun so far
plot is decent

cons

cannot see any so far, if there are any they arent readily apparent to me.

... I feel like I have fallen into a parralel dimension where ubisoft make games which run properly on pc :O

I would normally never purchase a Ubisoft game, but I got it as a steam gift so my two friends and I can play it together, and it's been fun so far. I've got about 8 hours in already.

Performance so far has been good. I'm getting 68 FPS average in the benchmark on an R9 290X on the Ultra preset at 2560x1440, so that's more than satisfactory. The graphical detail is good particularly for an MMO type game, but it doesn't really wow me in any way. But then again, I haven't really been wowed by the graphics in any AAA title in the past year. The game hasn't been playing nice with my GPU overclock, but I've just dialed it back a bit and hopefully that's something that gets resolved through a driver update or game patch.

As for the plot, I'll be honest and say I haven't listened to a word of it. And even if I tried it would probably get drowned out by one of my boys talking. For me, this game is just for running through and having a fun time with some friends, rather than being the cinematic, plot-driven type of game. That being said, I've been having enough laughs knocking out quests and gearing up to play it for 8 hours.

Overall the game gets a positive recommendation from me. If you're playing with a group of friends I'd say it's worth it, but I can't really speak for any solo players out there.

flazza do you work for Ubisoft? So far all there has been is problems and complaints about this game. Just like in the beta the AI is stupid as hell and you can stay in cover forever because of it. Also everything with the game in terms of jobs to do or whatever are pretty repetitive. This game is terrible.

A lot of my friends are liking the games (minus the server issues) but I personally don't see the interest in this game... It looks like Destiny and Gears had a baby that tries to live up to Mom and Dad's glory but just kinda sits there feeling bad about itself. My opinion, for what it's worth. If you like the game then have at it. That's what games are there for.

Edit: I should have stated that to the OP (the liking part).

wow

say decent things with no coercing and you work for the company?

they were my first impressions with limited playtime

further playtime has revealed bugs (falling through floor, classic ubisoft :D) but I am just going to leave it a week and retry playing.

Bizarrely I thought the same as skarwind last night on my 2nd sit down to play, its like a better version of destiny.

I played the beta, hated the terrible gunplay and bullet-spongy enemies, so I have zero interest in the game now.
