The Division will be downgraded

A Ubisoft Massive worker in Sweden contacted Whatifgaming because he is sick of the practices that a company like Ubisoft is doing.

I feel angry with Ubisoft, because they own very good IPs but they are making so many mistakes, I won't be buying any Ubisoft products until they stop this kind of practices.

I leave you the full article:

In my humble opinion console gamers already know that consoles are not as powerful as a PC, but that is not the strength of a console. A console offers a unified experience and exclusive content. But what do I know, I've only been playing video-games for the last 20 years, since I can remember.

i can agree with the Console philosophy, game devs don't have to worry about different hardware, multi-threading vs single threading, Discrete or iGPU, and so forth, so from a dev stand point i would rather develop a game for console but then again i want a game to have the best quality graphics i could give.  It's a vicious circle.

Because of things like this, they're gimping the PC version so that they don't play favorites and they don't make console gamers feel like they wasted their money.  Realistically, you buy a $500 system, you don't want to feel like you got ripped.  To me i get it that i'm a little ticked off that the market is like that; but i'm more ticked off that the PC hardware competition is going a little stale. GPU is the only market thriving and CPU, RAM, Mobo, Storage haven't done a drastic change for the general public for a long time.  Hardware like the FX-8350 and AM3 is still competitive more than 3 years old over Intel current stuff.  Yes synthetics show miles of difference, but real world 2 or 3 seconds for the common enthusiast won't notice the difference.  They only buy Intel for their reputation and because of trolls saying AMD sucks or w/e when in fact 4-5 fps doesn't change much for the common person to notice.  Every time i explain to anyone that's uninformed about AMD performance, they actually prefer the idea of buying AMD because of the compelling argument of price/performance.

Now Ubisoft is getting a ton of slack for this because of Watch Dogs, Far Cry, and The Division.  This is just gimping graphics, general stability of their games is still pretty solid.  Which is ALOT more than what EA does with their BF4 launch that they massacred with bugs.  I don't even blame DICE because they asked for extensions which EA denied numerous times.  EA wants to please their stock holders instead of their customers which is a sad thing indeed.  I'll give Ubisoft a pass for this mainly cuz their games don't really focus graphics like other game developers.  They don't focus PC so it's what's to be expected.  I think people are giving Ubisoft WAY TOO much gripe over a company that never does exclusives.

I'll probably get some slack for this but if they want to do that, they have the right to.  It makes me sad but they want an even experience through all their ecosystems.  Especially considering that console games cost $10 more because of licensing.

general stability of their games is still pretty solid.

I guess you haven't played Watch Dogs and the incredible stuttering issues it has even with High-end hardware.I guess you haven't played AC IV and the performance  optimization issues it had whith all kinds of hardware.

And about EA I can say they have patched BF4 several times and it runs perfectly on every PC i've tried, no bugs at all and over 120 fps which is A LOT MORE than what Ubisoft has done with Watch dogs and all of the bugs it has.

I think people are giving Ubisoft WAY TOO much gripe over a company that never does exclusives.

People like Ubisoft IP's and they like those products but they dislike their policies of lying and promising what they don't deliver. People is tired of hearing "Pc is the leading platform" and then they not only do close to zero work on optimizing the games so that they can run properly on machines that are a few times more powerful  than a current gen console, but they even downgrade them so that consoles won't seem as powerful as they really are. And the worst part is that games still run like ass. That's what makes me mad.

It makes me sad but they want an even experience through all their ecosystems.

I would be happy with an even experience, but an even experience means we all should have the 360/ps3 graphics because the games are out for those consoles! and I don't hear owners of last-gen consoles complaining because they have worse graphics, Nor do the current gen consoles owners complain because PC is capable of delivering better graphics, they already know!

I will correct myself saying I would be happy with an even experience IF they advertise it from the beginning! I've played Child of Light and enjoyed it, and NO ONE is complaining because PC does not have better graphics.

The answer is simple, just don't buy (pay money for) EA/Ubisoft games, I think the last game I brought from them was battlefield 3. It started with their crappy DRM and limited installs, then it progressed beyond that to always-on-line requirements, day one on-disc DLC, restricted paid servers, then to needing special propriety publisher specific distribution platforms. Now they are disabling actual game features, in-game, to make the games look worse!

You people all say you hate EA and UBISOFT, then you rush out and give them your money, you know what this tells me, what it tells them, it tells them that you don't care, that they will make bucketloads of money no matter what they do! Paid ammunition, why not, paid dificulty levels, go ahead! You want to unlock different classes, that is going to cost you!

Last game I bought from EA/Ubisoft was the Origin Humble bundle and Assassins creed III. Just because of what you are saying and I really wanted to play Titanfall.

Well Battlefield 4 required 6 months of patching, Watch Dogs has only been about for a lil over a month.  So realistically we can't say anything until 6 months.  Everyone complained a lil about AC4 and i never saw a single issue, With Watch Dogs, i haven't had stuttering problems, i had 1 crash and that was about it.  I really don't get the stuttering issues people are having. I've been running 1440p with maxed out settings and i've finished everything.  On the other hand Battlefield 4 i got crashes every other match i got in.  I'm still having crashes but lets say about 60% less, really feel bad for DICE.

Technically they do give PC better graphics, Watch Dogs wasn't that much better, but if u look at graphics comparisons, you'll see that it is better but not drastically.  AC4 was a pretty big improvement.  You also have to account that 1080p is a bit harder to achieve than 900p(PS4) or 760p(XB1).  Everyone is looking at the graphics when they should be looking at resolution and things like AA, AO, Tessellation, and so forth.  Everything looks smoother and more put together than the consoles.  That kind of optimization is the hardest and the most hardware tacking.  Now try turning to 1440p which is WAY more tacking and i'm still pulling around 40+ fps which is quite stable still.  The e3 bloom, extra tesselation effects done by the "mod"  is just double secondary diffuse/normal, whichever method they went by.  e3 bloom is just a more exaggerated existing bloom which hardly adds to hardware.

Graphics alone isn't the experience, people are way too focused on that and the experience is even throughout all the systems.  You're getting all the multiplayer modes, story mode, and i've never seen them say anything about graphics being part of experience.  That's the problem with the PC community for the most part is that they focus WAY too much on graphics and that is the general argument of PC vs Console when it shouldn't be that.  The PC Community is turning to be just as bad as the console community.  I think if the PC community would be more realistic about expectations, then they wouldn't be so mad.  ANY game that is cross platform will never be optimized.  I've never seen a cross platform game that was drastically better on PC, unless the modding community does something about it.  If you want to play a PC game that is amazing with all the bells and whistles, then buy a PC exclusive.
