The cool and interesting job thread

INB4 this thread is DOA like all my other ones. :stuck_out_tongue:

There are plenty of cool or interesting jobs that are out there but not many people see those job. This could be due to multiple explanations. But this thread has hopes to show those jobs to you.

I’ll do this similarly to the news thread, where after “x” amount of time the jobs that are posted will be moved off to an archive thread.

Hopefully this thread can rejuvenate the #community:jobs-studies section.

I believe that the person that gets the job would be creating something for the kids that come to the museum on a school field trip. Like some sort of exclusive VIP trip that encompasses visual learning and such.

I didn’t realize that indeed didn’t embed on discourse. Lol. I’ll paste what they want for the candidate below the link…

So didn’t want to start yet another job thread so felt this would be a good thread to add this to.

Jr. Sys Admin job:

Unfortunately there’s no direct link but if you click on Staff Positions then Job # G511, its there. It got posted without the full description but its a Sysadmin job in a research institute, no you are not doing research but supporting a bunch of researchers with your sysadmin talents.

So the cool part is it at a research institute where you will be confronted with many new things that have not been done before or provide services that fit the research needs, so things change.

Everything from configuring systems, installing them, keeping them running and fixing them when they break so not a do one thing type of job. Being that you work with researchers you need to talk and actually probe for info at times to get them going so if you have trouble asking questions and nagging people then its not for you. Even as a Jr. Sysadmin you’ll be telling people what to do or how to do it after you get to know the system.

Well any other questions (as the job description is lacking on the site) ask. Will try to touch back here a bit more often.

(yes first time poster or maybe a few a long time a go but this is not spam or a bot and if I’m off topic or derailing let me know where to proper thread is or if I have to create one)
