I think that this might be a decent product, if the price is right. It really depends on the price. I could see people using this as an add-on screen to their main one. It would make a good heads up display of sorts, or a little screen for all of your programs that you have running in the background. Of course, with a resolution that high, I would really want to make sure that I have a good main monitor first, otherwise the small one would be outshining the main one. This alongside a 4k screen would be really good imo. As for on the go, I don't really have much of an opinion. I haven't really needed it myself with my laptop, but I also don't play video games on my laptop, and it isn't really powerful enough to seriously multitask or to even drive two monitors well (at least with one of them being that resolution). It seems like it has a decent place in the market. They just need ot make sure to get the word out, ebcause not everyone will have a need for this product, so they need to be sure to reach the few who do want it. Again, it really comes down to price. Under $300, I could see it is as viable thing. Any more than that, and it gets questionable. Less than that and we are really talking business.
I dont think that would be super usefull for most people. If I look at the pledges the finished product would probably retail for 350 $ or so. If you want to use this on the go youll have to pack in what is basicly another laptop in size aswell as 2 cables, then you need a decent sized proper desk to set your displays up. What you get is a tiny 13 inch display.
At work, university or at home you could just plug in a full sized monitor for cheaper/free. You cant use this in class, on the train or the bus. A possible use case would be if you travel alot for work and want to get some work done in the motel or so.
I bought an Asus 27-inch in early 2012 (VE278) that I recently saw in Microcenter for $250. This monitor is actually awesome. Everyone who plays on it assumes it is something far more fancy. I paid $330 two years ago, and it was worth every penny. I am currently rocking an EVGA 660ti, and I will likely go 970 soon (like that price point), but this monitor really works for 1080.
We are not ready for higher resolutions, and all those benefits are simply irrelevant to me (and regular guys like me).
sure would be nice if they made a 20 inch or 18 inch model. also an option for a 120 or 144 hz screen and they need to make it less ugly, which im sure they will or at least better.
unless if you use it with a pc, maybe my desktop laptop, not this since the screen is too small, but maybe they will make different sizes and yes i agree the price is much too high.
