Textbooks/websites for beginners

I'm a makeup artist. I'm starting to be interested in photography. I want to take photography classes at a community college but I'm not ready yet. Meanwhile, I'd like to know super basic information about photography. Can anyone recommend any textbooks/websites that I can start learning from zero? Thanks :-)

There are a few more channels out their but I need to keep looking.

I can't find my books right know will get it to you later.

Also, you need to check out B and H on youtube. They have some great discussion and classes / lectures that are hosted by some of the worlds top photographers. Its a helpful tool for someone that is getting started. Also look for digitalRev Tv, some of their older stuff was pretty good. They had some great ideas on photo shots and how to's for people that are just now getting into photography.

There really isn't to much to it. Haven't you seen the giant billboards? Basically you just buy an iphone, make an instagram account, then you point it at your food and .... kidding

OK, photography from scratch. Let me start by saying that most websites and books are overly complicating everything with gimmicks and features and namedropping and sponsorshit™ and all those things that you just don't need. Let's establish where you are right now.

Do you know what an aperture works?
Do you know what shutter speed is?

also I forgot about this website
