Temp Monitoring

Simple question: What temp monitoring program does everyone use for OCing their CPU?

Reason being is I have always used Asus Probe II to monitor my temps, but I downloaded RealTemp, and it was showing my temps 10C higher. I then downloaded CoreTemp, and it was saying the same thing.

I read that my mobo has TJ max set to 85C, but the two programs have it set to 98C. When I reset the TJ max to 85, my temps dropped down to the same level as Probe II, bringing on a wave of confusion.

Any info would be a plus at this point. No one on any other forums can seem to agree.

I use speed fan. Don't know if it helps

Maybe Core Temp is compensating for known  temperature reading glitches in the CPU censors or something? I don't know.

Another program to try out is hardware monitor.

don't worry about the mobo tjmax, very little chance of getting to it. core temp just displays cpu temps. 95 is about normal for tjmax....

Sorry, what I meant to say is that the tjmax set be my mobo's monitoring program*, being probe 2 is 85°C.

I'm just trying to figure out why real temp is saying that my stock clocked i5 2500K is hitting 34°C at idle with an H60 sitting on it. Probe 2 is stating that its at 24°C, which seems more appropriate. Just not sure which program to believe. I would like to OC my CPU back to 4.2 MHz, but don't want to risk damaging my components by believing the wrong program.

my experience with Asus pc probe software is that it doesnt work. It gives random temps when compared to core temp, which is what I use now. Ide say just use core temp and ditch the asus probe nonsense
