Just a PSA for anyone who isnt subscribed to the TekSyndicate Steam Group.
There will be another GoldenEye: Source game tonight at 7:00pm EST.
The server is running version 4.2.1, if you do not have this version of GES, be sure to update it, as you won't be able to play without it.

I saw this on the steam group today which is awesome, however I am having trouble with GES, I cannot connect to any servers. Before the server is done loading I keep getting an error message saying "cannot connect to steam servers, invalid Steam ID". I don't know why it is doing this because TF2, CS:S and CS 1.6 all work. Can someone help me so I can actually play tonight with you guys. I've been dying to play this mod and I keep getting this message.

Close steam delete your config thats in your steam folder open steam backup problem should be solved.
So to clarify the config folder in steam, there's nothing important in there? I'm somewhat of a noobie, but I just want to make sure I don't do anything screwy.
I deleted it and everything still works perfectly fine.
Deleting the config file for steam will fix this issue. I had the same problem when first trying to play GES. After you sign in to steam, it will automatically redownload a new config file. Having a refreshed config file will fix this issue and you wont be hurting anything in the process.
