Tek Syndicate mouse

Just wondering if anyone has got their Tek Syndicate mouse yet. If so how awesome is it (making an obvious assumption that it will be awesome)?

I will get mine tomorrow in the post. I'll update as soon as I test it out.

I placed an order for one over the weekend, definitely can't wait to try it out! I've been needing to order a good mouse for a long time.

When you guys get your mice, can you please post a couple mouse test graphs and maybe do a mouse button latency test against a logitech mouse (logitech's mice seem to have the lowest mouse button latencies). I am trying to decide whether to buy the tek syndicate mouse or get a $35 G402 off ebay.

I highly doubt that you will get anything, considering that i havent even got an answer on the MCU and Mainswitches.

Also there has been this gem: http://www.overclock.net/t/1585625/teksyndicate-making-a-new-mouse/30#post_25006661

Had my mouse for about an hour, and I would put it at about a 10/10 at web browsing.

Sarcasm aside, it is a really comfortable mouse if you use a palm grip, which is what my grip tends to be.
The sniper button is my only qualm with the mouse, and the one thing that gets the most complaints out of me. It's too early to tell if it will just be a growing pain with the mouse, or if it is just going to be a pain. I seem to accidentally press it from time to time, and the way that the button is shaped is a bit awkward. The way you have to press it (at least with my average sized hands) is by taking your thumb and pushing slightly upwards towards the front of the mouse (the end that has the cable.) If you press the sniper button in perpendicularly to the side of the mouse, my thumb tends to slide down the slanted button as I move the mouse around. The button is very slick as well (it probably should have been rubberized). The actuation force is nice, but the I'm not a huge fan with the placement or shape of the button. However, since I don't ever use a sniper button, I think I'll probably get over it so long as I don't keep accidentally pressing it in game. I tend to have an iron grip on my mouse during any FPS games, so that may contribute to the accidental pressing of the button.

Moving on, the actual left and right mouse buttons are very solid. You are not likely to accidentally press them as they feel like they take more actuation force than my Corsair M65 and my Logitech G9. I'm not sure if that's because of the design of the mouse, the nature of switch used in the Standard Issue Tek Syn. Mouse. The buttons also don't have much flex beyond the actuation point. So, when the button clicks, there's no more movement beyond that. I don't see that as a good or bad thing, just an observation. Absolutely no noticeable input lag from any of the buttons by the way.

The scroll wheel... Meh... I would have preferred something more tactile when scrolling, but whatever. It's a 35 dollar mouse. The actual click of the scroll wheel when you press down on it is nice though.

DPI increments: I only use one or two settings. So, I don't really have an opinion on it.

And lastly, the sensor. I don't play many FPS games, so for me, it's hard to tell... It seems to be very accurate and responsive, and I've not had any stuttering, lag, or anything else negative to say about it. But, I'm probably not the best judge in this area.

My conclusion for this mouse: Pretty good for $35. The mouse buttons, sensor, and palm grip comfort are probably the best things about this mouse, with everything else ranging from "pretty decent" to "meh". The Standard Issue is good at what it was intended to be, and that's pretty much the bottom line.

Sorry if the review was a bit lengthy. My opinions are my own, and all things said are subject to change upon more usage of the mouse beyond an hour and a half.

Just got mine, I think it is easily the best mouse for the price. It's unbelievably smooth and looks great.

I kind of hate to mention this because I know the Tek Syndicate crew has very high integrity and the best of intentions and I am going to be trolled mercilessly, but...

Once one starts selling hardware, ones position is compromised as a reviewer of hardware.

I know it would never happen, but this creates a conflict of interest. Let's imagine that TS needs money desperately and Company X sends them a mouse to review. What's to stop TS from claiming 'All other mice are shit' in their reviews and then in another video they are promoting their own mouse? What's to stop Company Y from never sending TS any more products to review because there is a potential appearance of impropriety?

I know that @Logan spent the time to ensure that they are selling a quality mouse. If I didn't just buy a mouse last month, I would probably get one. They just cannot sell hardware, if they wish to be considered an impartial reviewer of hardware.

You lack faith! Lol. I hear you. I don't agree, but i hear you.

Our mouse is $35, has no software, no macros, not rgb, etc. It was not designed to compete with Mionix, zowie, etc. It's designed to be the best you can get for $35, but if someone does better I'll say so.

If vendors stop sending mice we will buy them.

This is limited to 1000 mice. The next batch will be slightly different and not purely branded as Tek Syndicate. This us a limited edition for sure.

So the Tek Syndicate mouse is not going to be a Tek Syndicate mouse after this. Just generic or have a different design?

I understand and I hope you understand that my faith in Tek Syndicate is unwavering. I was merely expressing a potential concern. Thank you for hearing me. You don't need me worrying for you. I'm sure you are qualified to deal with any trolls or blow back.

We all know you would never compromise your principles and the mouse looks like a great deal for another quality product you sourced for us.

Best wishes.

A conflict of interest is only bad when

They change their behaviour

It isn't disclosed.

It can be a conflict and not change anything at the same time. It's up to us to be vigilant about anything changing.

as said ..it's a $35 mouse. it seems good value for money, even with shipping, if you don't have a better mouse and like tek... i placed an order for a couple of shirts, with shipping to eu of course, and i didn't want to order the mouse, i know it's limited and if i had a lot of money i'd get one just to have it but my mionix naos 7000 is the mouse i stick with, i only paid €55 for it and is pretty much what i need. Now if tek would join with mionix and have a tek branded naos it'd be a different story, but you'd be looking at more than $35 obviously. You can't compare apples to oranges. the standard tek mouse is priced well but obviously comes without any bells or whistles and might not do it for those demanding this or that. both in ergonomics and controls/feel/quality my mionix has it, if it breaks, i'll be looking at a naos design with perhaps 'better' specs, like a newer version, no braided cable, adjustable weight etc, depending on availability and pricing of course.

The winner for the Tek Syndicate mouse, for both me and a friend of mine, is the fact it doesn't require software. Which is doesn't limit us to a particular OS like Windows. (He uses OSX, linux, and even Windows.)

I've only ordered the mouse on the weekend, so I can't wait to receive it. Only thing I wish I could have bought with it was the Tek PCB mouse pad! Heh

I just got mine yesterday, it feels nice. I'm coming from a Logitech G500 which was a little wider. If the next batch is a little wider I'll pick that one up too. The purple LED is not overpowering.

If you can provide links for how to do this, I can give it a crack. I think I have a logitech mouse around, but will have to double-check. My old (dying) mouse was some generic HP, and I know I have another generic Microsoft mouse.

I am not a mouse enthusiast, but would like to learn more. I bought the mouse because my old one started to go (mouse button died) and it was a good way to support Tek Syndicate.

Anyway, day one impressions are overall positive. It's always awkward at first when you are switching mouses, and in this case I found myself accidentally clicking the sniper button a lot. Since I have more of a fingertip grip, I was able to adapt fairly quickly to this, and it is not longer a problem. The LED is non-invasive, so even if you do not like purple, it is more of a subtle note that something flashy. I do not mind purple, so this is a non-issue with me.

I absolutely love that you guys are making these.

It seems right now good mice are only getting more expensive as manufacturers realize what we are willing to pay for. Sure they load them down with features, but that sensor is the only thing that really matters.
