Today I wired a Aluminum LED strip light I bought at Jaycar into my PC, I chose this particular one as it is quite simple to daisy chain together to extra ones with a simple included cable once the first one is hardwired. I chose to just wire it to the yellow and black wires from a molex adapter. I plan to buy two more to put into the top and bottom of the case.
The power LED I replaced a few weeks ago, it was a very simple process. Bought the brightest red 3mm LED I could then cut the old one off stripped off the shielding and soldered the new one on with new heat shrink and pushed it back into the socket, should've done this a long time ago as I hated the stock led on the Define R4.
I also installed the back plate I ordered from V1 Tech with the Tek Syndicate logo engraved on it, I am very happy with it besides the $25 postage (can someone from the USA tell me if it really costs approx that much to send a small light package to Australia) and the fact that one of the magnets that hold it onto the graphics card came off as soon as I lowered it into place. But it looks fantastic now that I have the inside of my case lit up.
All in all I am still very happy with my set up and the few aesthetic modifications/additions I have done recently make it pretty good to look at I think.
Next thing on the agenda will be putting sleeved 6pin power and the 24pin power extensions on from bitfenix (the red&black ones) to finish off the aesthetic modifications. If you are wondering why I am going with a red and black theme as it has been done so many times, my reasoning lies in the fact that it is my AFL team the Essendon Bomber's colours.
