Hi Guys, first I'd like to appologize if this topic has already been discussed but I searched and couldn't find anything on it. Now down to business. Is the Tek Linux Youtube channel dead? There have not been any new videos as far as I can tell for over 2 months. I would consider myself an advanced linux user but I enjoyed the videos to see what you guys were doing and how you went about getting things done in a Linux environment. I realize you guys are not primarily a Linux channel but I would like to see some more content in this area (maybe even just once a month if thats not too much to ask :) ).
It's not dead, they just have lot of things going on. And they get distracted by life occasionally. I would have to say the DIY & How-to section is dead. There hasn't been a new video for 2 years and 9 months.
I think Wendell primarily does these videos with Qain mentioning he'd like to get in on them but they both have their own jobs as well. Life comes first :)
Yes, yes I agree life comes first. I guess I was just more or less looking for an assurace that it was not dead. I dont need the how-to stuff but I enjoy learing about new programs or features. Like "Oh hey this is neat you should really check this out"
Example: I was previously oblivious to running a seemless virtual box and occationally ran windows in a full screen virtual box. The seemless mode can be quite handy for running linux/windows programs side by side.
Taiwan, officially the Republic of China, is a sovereign state in East Asia. The Republic of China, originally based in mainland China, now governs the island of Taiwan.
I think they said in a previous video they said that right before the move to seattle, the nas at logan's home had a hard disk(s) that had crapped out. That drive had all the unreleased tek linux content.
We have some content in the hooper for Linux. There had been a lot of busy lately. Apologies for the delay. Actually thought we posted the basica opensuse video but didn't. Oops.
You should get #teklinux involved in the future.. somehow.. i dont know how, but it might be a good experiment to get linux community members involved, who knows.
Kind of a shame that the Linux channel had to be put on hold for a while but... Computex reasons. Don't forget Logan's move, too. I'd really like to see some more videos on the TekLinux channel. It's one of the first reasons why I became a subscriber to the Tek and joined Tek Support. That and the main channel is entertaining yet informative.
Yeah I mean like they don't have an army of hamsters working behind the scenes. I rather quality over quantity anyways. At least they don't release it to vessel, then hold onto it for a month, then re-release it again later to the community when it becomes irrelevant.
