Tao Tao 150 scooter Power Hack?

Any gear-head nerds out in cyberspace have any Idea how hard it would be to rig up a micro usb charger to a scooter? I just got a Tao Tao 150 for my birthday and love it I just wish I could somehow plug my phone in.

If you are handy you can "Frankensien" into the bikes wiring harness where you could use an inline voltage regulator to convert the +12 V (or whatever) into a +5 V DC @ 3A  along with the female end of a usb cord.

Found this for you ........  Just lengthen red & black wires and hook to battery terminals if you do not want to cut into the wiring.

fixing the world one post at a time.

now if i can figure out where the hell the idle adjust is. it dosnt seem to be where its supposed to be

Bumer you have to completely remove seat to expose  the carburetor and air intake area.

Easy way to always locate idle adjuster is to follow the gloss black throttle cable. It will terminate near the carburetor housing & continue on as thin wire cable over a cam wheel. The cam operates a throttle plate or "butterfly valve" from mostly closed to open. And it is against this plate that the adjuster screw pushes. The idle adjuster screw opens the valve and lets more air in = higher RPM.

Make small adjustments at a time and try and remember how many 1/4 turns to turn back to original position if you need to

.

You see the gloss black throttle cable that terminates into that brass elbow then the wire to the cam... cam to plate

idle adjuster against plate .... easy peasy

oh that is a bummer. possibly I will just wait till my 300 mile tune up and make the guy at the shop do it I don't feel like taking the seat off yet Im to busy riding it. or maybe I will do it over the winter. Thanks for finding this for me.

Yeah  ... really just looks like 4   14mm bolts and about 6   15mm bolts  ... not that difficult ... whole job take  an hour & half give or take

And there is likely a few videos showing each nut & bolt location and sequence .... lol
