pi hole is basically drag n drop plus 35 dollars, which is why i mentioned it. There are other similar appliances you dont even need to do an install on.
unraid is a tiny bit more involved but you get support for the money you spend.

Do you mind making a thread on it maybe? Help the common user out since it seems we all avidly care about privacy
Maybe even one on unraid?
Donât have time here but I might on a platform I get paid to write for. Itâs clearly something people are interested in.
I think doing windows 10 privacy changes on the same device you run w10 on (if baremetal) is a fools errand, because at the end of the day, the institution you have an adversarial relationship with controls the system youâre operating in.
Itâs like expecting a slave to become an abolitionist orator without escaping the plantation.
I somewhat agree but feel that is partially off topic for this thread⌠But if you have suggestions that can be added to the scripts Im open to hearing them
Thread is about preserving privacy on w10
I offered a different methodology for that, really donât think itâs offtopic.
thereâs pros and cons to every solution here, I just think on balance doing it locally is deep in the red on that.
tutorial for average user
Applying registry tweaks and running powershell scripts
Shiggy diggy.
Just download shutup10 and consider that as good as it gets for an average user.
well also this, but i didnât want to be mean.
It seems counter productive to have to download more software other than wim_tweak though?
I moved for the lightweight solution. All solutions are accetable and to each their own
Just throw out your PC, get a typewriter and send everything by Stork if you want privacy.
what, do carrier pigeons use proprietary drivers or something
The problem to me is you get one of two outcomes. The user canât do your tutorial due to lack of knowhow because they just donât understand, or they do it and somewhere down the road something breaks and they have no idea how to fix it.
Thatâs what makes shutup10 an attractive solution. Itâs simpler to operate, and offers reversing of everything it does.
I agree itâs not perfect and doesnât help everything but then we get into the sticky territory of âis all telemetry badâ?
No, but I have more trust in a bird that delivers babies.
